Messianic Disintegration

This is a canvas oil painting I did a few years ago. When I painted it I actually had no religious intentions, being an atheist myself, but so many people saw it as a crucifixation that it kind of morphed into it.

The theme I was working on at the time was 'disintegration' whether it be of yourself, your mind (altered states), the wider community (social disintegration), the environment or even the paint/texture of the painting itself
